Eruera Maihi Patuone

For the past couple of days, I have been working on a DLO (Digital Learing Objective), about Eruera Maihi Patuone, I briefly stated who Patuone was, why he was significant, and who his ancestors were.
To make this DLO,  I read an interesting article from the source School Journal. This non fiction story talked about how Patuone lived and how he had made an impact on New Zealand.  To me this story was fascinating, considering that it is new information that stuck to my brain.

Here is what I know:
Patuone lived around 108 years old. From a young age he was destined to be a good man towards his country. When he grew up, he was a peacemaker. He played a great role although he wasn’t always agreed with. In 1840, he was included in the signing of the Treaty Of Waitangi. From a young man he always thought that he wanted to have a relationship with the missionaries and the pakeha. When he grew up, Patuone was a peacemaker. He was like a bridge between two worlds, always solving problems between the Maori and the Pakeha.

The learning purpose of this activity is to know how to summarise an article, and so that we can learn about Maori leaders who made a change in New Zealand.

I am looking forward onto learning more about Maori leaders in the future.
